Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Locate Missing Person Second Time SafetyNet Service Has Assisted in this Individual’s Rescue The SafetyNet Tracking service helped Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Deputies locate a missing Florida man for the second time in less than two months. In this case, a 40-year-old man with dementia was reported missing last night after he was last seen at approximately 12 p.m. The man wandered away from his home on Lexington Road in Brandon. He was found – after having walked 1.1 miles away from his home – only 37 minutes after deputies from the Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office arrived on scene and began following the signal emitting from the subject’s SafetyNet bracelet. Ground and air units were used in locating the missing man. It was the second time in less than two months that the SafetyNet service has assisted Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Deputies in locating the man. In November, he was rescued by authorities after wandering 3.5 miles away from his home. It was their first SafetyNet rescue of 2014. The SafetyNet Tracking service is designed to assist public safety agencies find individuals with cognitive conditions who are prone to wandering and becoming lost. The service is comprised of a SafetyNet Bracelet worn by a client that emits Radio Frequency signals, which can be tracked by local public safety officials via their SafetyNet Search and Rescue Receivers.
