Sheriff’s Office Third Rescue in Less Than Four Weeks Using Service
For the third time in less than four weeks, the SafetyNet Tracking service helped deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office locate a missing person with a cognitive condition. In the most recent case, an 80-year-old man -- who lives in an assisted living facility in Riverview, Florida and suffers from Alzheimer’s -- went missing on the afternoon of Saturday, February 8 after leaving his assisted living facility via a broken window. He was found – after having walked 1.6 miles away from his home – only 18 minutes after a deputy from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office began picking up a signal emitting from the missing person’s SafetyNet bracelet.
