Combined Effort of Boston Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Aviation Unit and Locate Missing Person with SafetyNet® Tracking System

On Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day), the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Aviation Unit and the Boston Police Department located a missing person with a cognitive condition using the SafetyNet® Tracking system. In this case, a 74-year-old man with dementia was reported missing in Boston. Officers from the Boston Police Department conducted a ground search for the missing person and the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Aviation Unit searched via air. The MSP Aviation Unit officers picked up the radio frequency signal emitting from the missing individual’s SafetyNet bracelet in the area of Hanover and Salem Streets in Boston’s North End. MSP relayed this information to the Boston Police who then tracked the missing man with the system and located him walking on Parmenter Street in Boston.
