18-Year-Old with Down Syndrome Rescued with SafetyNet

On Monday December 16, an 18-year-old man with Down Syndrome, who is on the SafetyNet Tracking program, went missing from his home in the Mattapan Section of Boston in the early morning hours.
A 911 call was placed to the Boston Police as well as to the SafetyNet Emergency Call Center. Following these calls, a search ensued which covered a large geographical area.
This search resulted in the man’s signal being picked up with SafetyNet tracking equipment near the Blue Hill Ave MBTA Station in Mattapan. The man was subsequently located and returned home safely.
